Collaborative Feedback on Series and Parallel Lesson
Records of experiences with the university supervisor and cooperating teacher collaborating on instructional design.
Reflection
While designing the series and parallel lesson plan, I took leadership over my students’ learning experiences by actively seeking out collaboration with my university supervisor to better meet the needs of my students. Over email, I asked for input on differentiating the lesson plan and the possible formative assessment strategies currently integrated. These were areas in my instruction that I felt needed more development, so requesting feedback on these areas for improvement shows my willingness to take opportunities to ensure learner growth. Additional feedback came from the formal observation data on this lesson plan, providing structured guidance for further growth. This collaboration with my cooperating teacher reinforced my understanding of the importance of seeking out these opportunities rather than working in isolation, waiting for the collaboration to come to me. Ownership over the instructional design in this way only seeks to help our students and advance learning in the teaching profession.
